It’s been a year already?!?!

Hey you guys!

It’s June 21st and I cannot believe that it has been a full year since I combed out my locs. It’s definitely a bittersweet moment. I am happy that I took a leap of faith with my hair one year ago. But I am also a little discouraged by all the setbacks that I’ve had this year. I can honestly say that a year ago I had no clue how to take care of my hair. I did not know how to cornrow, flat twist or even do bantu knots! (bantu knots are my favorite now) Not to mention, I didn’t even realize there was a difference between sulfate-free shampoos. I have come far in my natural hair journey. Also having healthy hair has become a propriety on my list. I won’t deny that I miss having long hair. My locs were at bra-strap length when I decided to take them out. My locs were heavy so I got use to feeling my hair touch my back and when I went to my fro. I didn’t feel anything. Like my hair was so light that I serious would forget I had any hair at all. It took time for me to get use to that.

I love my hair right now. It looks and feels healthy and I know how to take care of it now. I’m still working out a few kinks but I’m truly happy with my decision to comb out my locs. I always talked about taking them out but I never thought I would just go ahead and do it. lol

My 2nd year goals?

  1.  Finding a Solution to my itchy scalp (already doing weekly washing, peppermint and tea tree oil, next step onions!)
  2. Doing more Protective Styling (mainly wigs for easy access to my hair)
  3. Keeping my hands OUT OF MY HAIR! lol 🙂
  4. Eating Healthier (fruits and veggies)
  5. Exercising
  6. Length Retention and Healthy Hair Growth
  7. Seasonal Trims (once the season changes get a trim!)

I also want to take some time and thank all my subscribers and followers of this blog and also my Youtube Channel. It has only been 8 months since I started blogging/vlogging and I appreciate all the comments and emails I get from you all! I have a lot of exciting adventures coming out that I can’t wait to share with you! 🙂 Please check out my One Year Natural Hair Anniversary Video below! I hope you enjoy!
