What is your favorite hair oil??

Hey you guys! I just wanted to give you a bit of extra information on oils and their great benefits. This list could help you figure out which oils you need for your hair. Here I have listed 11 different oils that you can use for your hair and even cook with! These are not all the oils available to us but these are the most common. Make sure you check the ingredients on the back of some of your hair products. You may be surprised at what oils you find… Enjoy!

•             Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is particularly great for natural hair. It’s loaded with nutrients, amino acids, essential fatty acids, as well as vitamins A, B, D, and E. And it’s excellent for moisturizing, deep conditioning, improving hair strength, strengthening hair, and boosting shine.

•             Castor Oil

Castor oil thickens hair, promotes hair growth, prevents thinning, moisturizes, helps reduce split ends, helps to tame frizz, and prevents scalp infections. Castor oil contains Ricinoleic Acid: a strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungicidal agent, which protects the hair and scalp from infections. The omega-9 fatty acids and humectant properties in the oil moisturize and nourish hair leaving it thick, shiny and strong.

•             Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is great for preventing dandruff, promoting hair growth, moisturizing, strengthening hair, thickening hair, and preventing damage.

•             Olive Oil (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)

Olive oil, which is also referred to as the “godmother of hair oil,” is great for moisturizing, deep conditioning, improving hair strength, eliminating dandruff, and also has powerful antioxidants that can help fight hair loss.

•             Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil is great for stimulating hair follicles for hair growth, preventing hair loss and greying, preventing dandruff, strengthening hair, and boosting shine.

•             Safflower Oil

Safflower oil protects hair, nourishes hair follicles, moisturizes, and stimulates blood circulation to promote hair growth and thickness. And it is extremely beneficial for natural as well as dry chemically treated hair.

•             Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil works great as a “sealant.” This means that it “locks-in” moisture. Sweet almond oil also nourishes hair, smoothes hair cuticles to control shedding, promotes hair growth and thickness, prevents hair loss, and boosts shine.

•             Lavender Oil

Lavender is also considered to be one of the most effective natural treatments for the prevention of hair loss. Its ability to considerable re-growth within months of regular use. Along with the preventative effects, lavender oil is a powerful antiseptic. The disinfecting properties of the oil not only treat many scalp conditions, but also fight microbes, fungi and other viruses.

•             Tea tree oil

Tea Tree Oil (commonly known as melaleuca oil) in a diluted solution helps to unblock clogged pores on the scalp. It also moisturizes the skin, conditions the hair and its anti-bacterial properties protect the skin from bacterial and fungal infections. By promoting the general health of the hair and scalp as well as boosting the body’s entire immune system, tea tree oil is very effective in healing damaged hair and allowing it to grow long, thick, strong and healthy.

•             Argan Oil

Argan oil has made its way to the mainstream as an effective treatment for hair growth, and generally for improving our hair. Rich in Omega 3 and Omega 9 fatty acids, Argan oil has the ability to penetrate the hair shaft and deliver the nutrients directly to the hair helps to repair damaged follicles and promote hair growth. A high concentration of Vitamin E; which increases the cell’s ability to absorb oxygen, which allows for more nutrients to penetrate the hair follicles. Argan oil is non greasy and lightweight.

•             Grape Seed Oil

Grape seed oil contains powerful moisturizing properties which deem to be very effective when used on the hair and scalp. It maintains the moisture in hair and therefore prevents split ends and breakage experienced with dry and weakened hair. Grape seed oil contains heat-resistant properties for temperatures up to 450ºF making it an essential treatment for those who regularly use hair dryers and straighteners.
