2014: My Year of Traveling

Hey you guys!

I hope all is well!! I recently posted my “3 weeks of travel” video. As some of you may know, I am on my University’s drum-line Dance Team. It is a small group of 10 lovely ladies and I am so blessed to be apart of this dance family! ūüôā To add to this great opportunity, so this year I went¬†on 3 trips! And I have a 4th trip coming up in August (you will never guess where!!) I am so excited. I performed at the American East Conference, I went on a¬†Ski Trip to Pennsylvania and I went to¬†South Beach Miami for spring break. I did all this traveling in 3 weeks! I barely had time to unpack my luggage! ūüôā

American East Conference: A nice weekend away in a new place. Although my school did not win (women’s or men’s). My dance team got to perform and I loved it. The arena was a lot bigger than my home school. The games took place at U Albany and that was my first time being there too. We left from Maryland around 4am and got to U Albany around noon. We immediately had to run off the bus and get in the stands to cheer on the Women’s team. After the game we went back to the hotel, had practice and chilled out until dinner time. Dinner with my team was nice although everybody was tired and very cranky because we had been up since 3am. But Red Lobster biscuits already melts away a bad mood. Men’s game was a bit more interesting but we we’re missing almost 5 players so we really didn’t stand a chance. We got right back on the bus after that game and headed back home to MD.

Ski Trip: I¬†went¬†to seven springs mountain resort in PA with my boyfriend and his church fellowship. I had been thinking about going on this trip for almost a year. I didn’t go last year so I’m finally went¬†this year and I’m so glad I did. I haven’t been skiing in a long time! I am terrified of heights and for some strange reason it did not occur to me that I was going to have to take a ski lift up the mountain and then ski back down. I was soooo scary. Like I refused to go back up the hill after the first time. I was disappointed that I had to cut my time short but I still had fun.¬†I stayed on the kiddie slope. My ankles were killing me by the time I was done. Next time I will go Tubing!

Spring Break-South Beach Miami: This was my¬†first spring break trip and I was really¬†excited to see Miami!¬†I ¬†experienced my first plane ride too. Yes, it’s true I have never been on a plane. I actually ended up going on 3 different planes (2 to get to Miami and 1¬†of the way back). Again my¬†fear of heights was kicking in but I was good this time. After the first ride I was able to look out the tiny airplane windows. I finally challenged my fear..well sorta. I can already tell that I like the big planes than the smaller one. For the first transfer flight to NC we were on a small plane and had turbulence the whole time. But the plane from NC to FL was great! A lot bigger and a lot more room (Yes, I know I’m small but I still like the extra leg room).

Overall, I had a great time going to all of these places. I’m also excited to announce that I will be going to Jamaica in August! It will be my first time out of the US. I clearly don’t travel a lot but this year seems like an amazing time to do so. ūüôā Talk to you soon!

xoxo,

YesSarie!
